Turkey Time Means Fun Time!

Thanksgiving; the last Thursday in November, when you and your family sit around and watch the Macy’s thanksgiving day parade that’s on two NBC and CBS,  while your cousin complains “The Packers are playing, turn it on FOX!” only to see that they are playing the lions and the score is 27-7 at halftime. Yes the day when white meat or dark meat is your only choice; when old man Rivers down the street decides to put up his Christmas decorations in the middle of the day, trying to become the first person in the neighborhood with their Christmas lights on. All your little cousins see and beg you to put up your lights now (and to also buy them a very expensive gift for Christmas). But what about everyone else? All the people who are homeless, or the families whose mommies and daddies are going through a layoff or pay cut just to keep working?
While shopping lists, pies, Christmas gifts, and turkeys bay be top priority, being that it’s time for ‘Thanks’ and ‘Giving’, some of you may be wondering how you can help those in need. There are various local organizations working to make everyone’s holidays happier. Weather its dropping off food, cans or clothes, or even helping in shelters and soup kitchens, there are plenty of options to get involved.
Here are some local places you can drop off some food. Don’t forget, even after thanksgiving is over, you can still donate and contribute.
