To the Editor,

This is a response to the article "Until Gay Lovers can Marry, Neither Will I."

The author comments that the Christian faith is "strange" because "not all parts of the Bible are followed explicitly." I find this understandable, and I would like to explain why.

The author quotes in Leviticus, Deuteronomy, and Exodus that deal with Old Testament Law.

This law, although still applicable, does not bear the same consequence today as it did back then.

This is because of the grace provided through Christ's perfect sacrifice and death on the cross.

We are no longer bound by the consequences of this Law, but those that love HIM still abide by it.

This can sound confusing and contradictory, but with some Biblical understanding, will begin to make sense. These Biblical texts are not "out of synch," they're out of context.

The man who killed the gay couple was emanating the "moral decay" of society. Those who claim to be "following instructions from God," but are doing things HE clearly commands us not to do, are out of line.

Everything the author addresses is correct in context of Humanistic Worldview, but I have a problem when those who don't understand the doctrine of the Bible try to use it against itself to prove their own points.
