Thanksgiving is right around the corner. That means stuffing our faces with turkey and other goodies. But if you are looking for a way to feel better about feasting on thanksgiving morning, Modesto Junior College Cross Country Team is putting together an exercise day before the big feast. At 9 a.m. anyone who wants to join can participate in the Modesto Turkey Trot at the Tuolumne River Regional Park in Modesto. Junior high schools and anyone younger can take part in the ½ mile kids race and later the 5 kilometer run or walk at 9:20 a.m.; following that will be the Tuolumne River. There will also be fun after the run/walk where there will be refreshments and raffle prizes.
The race is to support the MJC Cross Country Team and will benefit it from the money being put in it. You must first register for the race at 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. The cost for the event will be from $5 to $20 and T-shirts will be given to the first 800 registrants. The day before the race, you may pick up your T-shirt from 2-6 p.m. in the MJC Gymnasium which is located on Coldwell Avenue on the East Campus.
