Nearly 60,000 people gathered in Riverbank ‘the city of action’ on October 10 and 11, to enjoy the festivities of the annual Wine and Cheese festival. The streets of downtown Riverbank were filled with hundreds of vendors and businesses. There was live music performed from three different stages, and a popular beer garden, where wine and cheese was served, at the north and south ends of the main street.
The activities, and booths opened at 10 A.M. and closed at a fairly early 7 P.M.. The occasion was coordinated by the Riverbank Rotary Club. Other than the businesses participating, the event was sponsored and advertised widely by 104.1 The Hawk, a local classic rock radio station, who also had a stage set up at the south end, where various bands performed throughout the day, such as, 80’s hair metal band Aquanet, and a Journey tribute band.
Overall the event was a success as it has been in years before. The Riverbank Wine and Cheese festival is a family event, where everyone, is welcome to browse and shop the local vendors, divulge in various kinds of food, drink with friends safely, and enjoy live music of all genres, in a fun and safe environment.
