Need to get out of the "Woods"

Day 1 of The Masters provides many suprising story lines

Tiger this, Tiger that. Tiger shot his lowest first round ever. Tiger made two eagles. Tiger didn't get booed. Tiger got cheered. Tiger played a practice round. Tiger had eggs yesterday morning. Tiger went to the cleaners to get his red shirt. Tiger pulled a rabbit out of a hat. Tiger is the new King of Norway. Tiger, Tiger, Tiger. Wow… Hockey is great

USA ties it late, but loses in overtime to Canada

I was sure how it was going to end: The US would play great, but the Canadians would eventually win. That was, before Zach Parise had something to say about it. After the Panthers turned the puck over in their own zone, Thrasher’s star winger Ilya Kovalchuk took the puck down the ice, and scored on Panther’s goaltender Thomas Vokoun. Now, inexplicably, Florida defensemen Keith Ballard took his stick, and made a baseball swing attempt to break it over the net. I say attempt because Ballard actually broke his stick over Vokoun’s helmet. Vokoun would be shipped to the hospital, where he would be released. Ballard shouldn’t be suspended. He should be released and blackballed from the NHL. Getting your stick up and accidentally clipping someone in the face, happens. When two players connect knee-to-knee, that happens. This should never happen.  It was stupid and unnecessary.
